It’s time for a RESET.
The Knoxville RESET Apprenticeship Readiness Program (RESET ARP) readies individuals for union apprenticeships through a targeted outreach program that recruits participants and provides them with comprehensive wraparound services, mentorship, and hands-on introductions and job placement in the building trades. CONNECT Ministries, the Knoxville-Oak Ridge Central Labor Council, and the Knoxville Building & Construction Trades Council are partners in the effort.
- RESET ARP is more than just a program — it’s a promise to our community. It’s a commitment to equity, opportunity and supporting the next generation of skilled trade professionals. By collaborating with our union partners and local organizations, we’re demonstrating what’s possible when we invest wholly in people and their futures.

- By providing a direct bridge to Registered Union Apprenticeship Programs, RESET ARP participants get access to apprenticeships that are regulated by the U.S. Department of Labor and recognized state agencies, as well as tuition-free, “earn while you learn” opportunities.
The program curriculum combines classroom instruction with practical, hands-on worksite experiences. Through the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) certified by North America’s Building Trades Unions, participants receive foundational knowledge in safety, tools and construction math, along with exposure to various skilled trades, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and many more.
- Mentorship is at the core of the RESET ARP model. Each participant is paired with an experienced apprenticeship mentor, who provides guidance for not only selecting but also getting placed in a trade that matches their individual strengths and aspirations.

- This is what it looks like to build futures and community at the same time. We’re not just teaching technical skills; we’re helping participants find their place in a supportive, union family — a Forever Family that stands by them from their first day of training to retirement.
